Ekiuwa Aire is an award-winning author born and raised in Benin City, Edo, Nigeria. She is passionate about sharing positive stories on African history with children.

She lives with her husband and two daughters in Ontario, Canada.

Sam & Rita Burke

Sam & Rita Burke have been educators for over three decades. Their life’s mission is to curate and connect books to people and people to books. In 1994, they started an Afrocentric bookstore in Toronto, Canada. The bookstore morphed into a community hub, for authors, artists, and events for the enrichment of Toronto’s Black and Caribbean community. Sam & Rita believe that their bookshelves tell the Black experience authentically and accurately.

Keneisha Walters

Keneisha Walters has been involved in media as an online TV show presenter, event host, public speaker and radio co-host. The Harry Jerome scholarship recipient’s debut children’s book, “But Mommy, Where is God?” is a delightful bedtime read.  It was written as a means to answer the many questions her 2 year old toddler had about who God is. This inspirational and captivating read will assuredly engross young readers.

I Like Being Me Books

I Like Being Me Books tells stories for children in a light that allows them to see themselves. We take stories of everyday spaces for children in their classrooms, kitchens, and special occasions to emphasize cultural norms that unite African, Caribbean, Canadian, and American children’s experiences.
