Description

Over 4,000 years ago, in ancient Egypt, a young boy named Imhotep was born. From a  young age, he excelled and quickly became known as a genius.

Imhotep had the ability to see through difficult problems and was often trying new techniques and experiments. He had many talents, and as an architect, Imhotep designed the step pyramid at Sakkara—one of the most incredible structures in ancient history. The step pyramid still stands strong today.

In the pages of this book, you’ll discover the Egypt known to Imhotep, as he grows from a curious young man into one of the most successful, intelligent, and well-known men in ancient Egypt.

Engaging, informative, and beautifully drawn

This was a beautiful book that kept my little ones involved and taught all of us many things we did not know! I was so happy to find something fun to add to their curriculum!

Informative and fun to read

The illustrations in this book are amazing! They are colorful and engaging, and they help with the flow of the story. There is a lot of information provided, but not so much that it would overwhelm the student. I really liked the defined terms at the beginning of the book instead of the end – it helps give an idea to what is coming. My child was able to read the book and easily give me a synopsis of what he read.

Great intro to Ancient Egypt

This is a great introduction to the world of ancient Egypt. The writing is simple and clear, but there is just enough information for kids to be able to follow along and get a sense of what life was like back then. It’s easy to read and I love the illustrations. My kids enjoy this book!

If Excellence Was a Person!

I have never read a historical children’s book that had such an engaging story. The author made it so real, we felt like we were there in the time of Imhotep and that he would pop out of nowhere and start talking to us. It really opened my eyes to the way of life in ancient Egypt, and I can honestly say I will never think of the pyramids and mummies the same way again!
